This is probably one of the best drones recommended for ages eight to 13 years old. The Helix H4 quadcopter is great for beginners since it’s hardwearing to handle a rough and clumsily new user.
You have to charge it for 45 to 60 minutes, and the flight time takes around five or six minutes, but that can be already enough for kids to get their feet wet and learn the hand-to-eye coordination necessary for more costly and bigger drones. The flight distance it has is around 40 meters only so you don’t have to worry about FAA regulations or if your kids are straying too far from the yard.
