There are lots of parents, especially the first time parents who get confused between the terms ‘nanny’ and a ‘housekeeper’ and therefore they find themselves in the trouble when the person appointed by them is not able to perform his role according to their expectations. Nannies who are dedicated for taking the care of infants or toddlers are required to provide constant care for them. This although, doesn’t mean that they should be them throughout the day, because there are certain hours of the day when these little ones sleep, during this duration they can either take a break from their duties or can utilize the same for finishing additional home task. If a nanny is hired for performing both the tasks that is taking care of a child and housekeeping, then it should be made clear to her that despite of housekeeping tasks, looking of the children should at the priority on her chart of duties and for that she can even postpone or ignore her other jobs. For this it is mandatory that the parents should co-operate with the deputed nanny, because the success of their relation mainly depends on their mutual understanding.
In simple words, it can be said that there exists a huge difference between the duties performed by a nanny and housekeeper and as a nanny is also a human being it is not possible for her to do justice with both the jobs at the same time. It is therefore better to appoint different persons for both the jobs so that neither your child suffers from an appropriate care nor there is any impact on your household tasks.
